SL Fantasy Faire is my favorite event of the year as RFL means a great deal to me and fantasy creation is my greatest passion. The FF has become my annual unveiling of my latest mermaids so this year I shall not disappoint.
2016 will bring a new line of mermaids with a darker feel, inspired by the sirens of the sea- The beauties that lure unsuspecting men to their deaths with a song. Now sometimes I hear "Lak, sirens are not mermaids!" and this is what I want to say about it.
Fiction is a wonderful thing- It is all about interpretation of the creator. Sure, originally sirens had feathers and lived on land, though over the centuries more and more people have come to think of them as mermaids. Countless stories have given rise to the siren mermaid long before I. My designs often portray both versions in several renditions- lovely bird like creatures, mermaids with plums and scales, and simply mermaids alone. Unlike the original Greek versions however, my sirens with feathers swim like a fish!
Do not put boundaries on your creative mind and you will accomplish much more than you can imagine. Do not listen to those who say you can not do something. And if you do listen, do it to prove them wrong .
